International Student Orientation

New international student at Syracuse University, must complete mandatory International Student Orientation requirements in addition to attending Syracuse Welcome, the university-wide new student orientation.  There are two options to complete these requirements:
 

International Student Orientation Session 1

August 20-21, 2017

Suggested arrival date: August 18 or 19

Encouraged to take the English Language Assessment Exam on Monday, August 21 at 8:30am. Complete the English Language Assessment Exam registration form.

International Student Orientation Session 2 

August 21-22, 2017

Suggested arrival date: August 19 or 20

Non-native speakers of English will also need to take the English Language Assessment Exam. Complete the English Language Assessment Exam registration form.

International Student Move-In Information

You will be able to move into your residence hall starting on August 18, whether you are participating in International Student Orientation Session 1 or 2.  The Slutzker Center will be open on both Saturday and Sunday that weekend to allow you to begin the new student arrival process. 

An early move-in fee of $32.05 per night will be billed to your Bursar account the day of your arrival on campus until Tuesday, August 22. International students are welcome to stay at the Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel prior to moving into their residence halls for a special rate.  Visit the New International Undergraduate Students website for more information about temporary housing.
